Saving on mobiles

Saving on mobiles

Your mobile phone is probably as important to you as…well, almost anything else in your life. Carphone Warehouse's recent Mobile Life survey revealed that one in three people would want £1m to give up their mobile - and those aged between 16 and 24 would prefer to give up sex for a month than do without their handset.

But do you really need all those minutes and texts that come as part of your package. If you pay, say £40 a month to your mobile phone company, that's £480 a year  (well over £600 of your pre-tax salary), firstly visit mobilesplease.co.uk to find a far more attractive arrangement – and, most likely, a better phone, too. Alternatively your call pattern is infrequent or primarily incoming calls, consider buying a pay-as-you-go phone. They cost as little as £30: you only pay for the occasional call and text, as and when, you need to.
